I am an Associate Professor at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (FEEC), University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil. I am also the co-founder and currently Director of the Medical Image Computing lab (MICLab). I hold a research fellowship from the Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development and am an investigator of the Brazilian Institute of Neuroscience and Neurotechnology (BRAINN). I am also a full member of the Brazilian Society of Biomedical Engineering and a senior member of the IEEE. I’ve got a B.Eng. (Electrical Engineering) in 1993 at University of Campinas (UNICAMP). After 7 years in the industry and an MBA at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV), I returned to UNICAMP, where I completed both a M.Sc. (2004) and a Ph.D. (2009). I held fellowships at The McConnell Brain Imaging Center (BIC), Montreal Neurological Institut, McGill University, Canada and at the Medical Imaging Processing Group (MIPG), Pearlman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania. I also spent one month as a visiting Professor at the Università degli studi di Verona (Dipartimento di Informatica).
